Tran Luu Hau (Vietnamese, 1928-2020) is a contemporary visual artist whose work navigates the intersection of cultural memory and modern identity. Drawing from a rich heritage rooted in Vietnamese tradition, Hau's practice weaves together elements of ancestral storytelling, symbolic imagery, and a deeply personal visual language. His art invites viewers into contemplative spaces where the past and present exist in quiet dialogue, reflecting on themes of displacement, belonging, and the enduring bonds of family and community.

Working across multiple mediums — including painting, mixed media, and installation — Tran has developed a distinctive aesthetic that balances restraint with emotional depth. His compositions often employ layered textures and muted, earthy palettes punctuated by bursts of vivid color, evoking both the landscapes of his origins and the complexities of the contemporary human experience. Hau's work has been exhibited in galleries and cultural spaces across Southeast Asia and beyond, earning recognition for its ability to bridge cultural boundaries and speak to universal truths through a uniquely personal lens.
