Vivian Loh (Singaporean, b.1994) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, murals, assemblage, digital illustration, and drawing. A First Class Honours graduate in Fine Arts from LASALLE College of the Arts, she is best known for expressive landscapes and nature-inspired compositions that explore the relationship between the built environment and the natural world. Her works are characterised by energetic brushwork, vibrant colour, and an intuitive approach that balances observation with imagination.
Alongside her studio practice, Loh has worked as an art educator and professional food and product stylist, collaborating with international brands while continuing to exhibit widely in Singapore. Her paintings have been presented at institutions and galleries including Marina Bay Sands, Gajah Gallery, the Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore, and the Singapore City Gallery, reflecting the breadth of her creative practice across both fine art and commercial fields.
"The formal aspects of our surroundings constitute a string of inescapable visual impressions. Through my sensorial experience with the engagement of bodily senses, experiences are constantly absorbed into my psyche where every mark I make associates with images that I have seen in the material world. My body becomes a vehicle for the mind to grasp the essence of everyday happenings and to reform it. ‘Exosphere’ features layers of my sensations superimposed with one another to form a new visual that materialises my inner psyche onto canvas. My observations of ephemeral instances such as light, water reflections and shadows are merged into one another, bridging the gap between fantasy and reality through layering to bring out the sensation of the image rather than the image itself."
