Yang Yanping (Chinese, b. 1934) is a prominent Chinese painter celebrated for her lyrical ink and colour works that bridge traditional Chinese aesthetics with modern expression. Born in Beijing, she studied architecture at Tsinghua University before turning to painting, and later became associated with the "New Literati" movement. Her art often features organic forms such as flowers, fruits and natural landscapes, rendered with delicate brushwork and subtle washes of colour. Yang's distinctive style blends spontaneity with restraint, evoking both classical Chinese painting and contemporary abstraction. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she later relocated to the United States.

This is an abstract painting of muted and earthy tones. A quiet piece of art that adds understated elegance to any space.

I will be downsizing to a smaller residence in the near future and will not have the space to display the painting. Rather than keep the painting in storage, I would prefer that it finds a new home where it can be enjoyed and appreciated.
