Ye Jianqing 叶剑青 (Chinese, b. 1972) is a contemporary Chinese painter known for blending traditional Chinese painting with modern visual language. He studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), where he later earned a PhD and now serves as a professor. His work reflects a deep engagement with both classical Chinese aesthetics and contemporary perspectives, shaped by influences from both Eastern and Western art traditions.

Ye’s paintings are characterised by atmospheric landscapes that evoke a sense of spiritual and natural harmony. Drawing inspiration from Song dynasty painting, he combines traditional concepts such as “qi” and holistic perception with contemporary techniques, often creating misty, utopian environments that feel both distant and immersive. His works have been exhibited internationally and are held in major collections, including the National Art Museum of China and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, reflecting his recognition within the global contemporary art scene.
