Justin Lee

Justin Lee (b. 1963) is a Singaporean artist whose work reflects on everyday life in Singapore and draws on Eastern and Western visual cultures. He studied Fine Arts at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, received a Diploma in Fine Arts from LASALLE–SIA College of the Arts, and later earned a Master of Fine Art at LASALLE College of the Arts in partnership with Goldsmiths, University of London. Lee has participated in exhibitions across Asia and internationally and has received arts-related scholarships and awards. In his 2021 exhibition I am a CON artist at The Private Museum, he extended his practice beyond painting to include installations, text-based artefacts and interactive works. These works examine consumerism, individualism, media saturation and the normalisation of self-glorification. By drawing attention to the signs, billboards, products and images encountered in daily life, Lee invites viewers to consider how visual culture shapes identity and perception.
