Tung Yue Nang

Tung Yue Nang (born 1959) is a Singaporean multidisciplinary artist known for bringing traditional Chinese ink painting into dialogue with modern Western media. He began his art training at 15 under the Chinese master Shi Xiang Tuo. After working in advertising, Tung became a full-time artist. His practice spans painting, calligraphy, seal carving, ceramics, photography, and mixed media, with Taoist philosophy often informing his work. Moving between these disciplines, he draws on Chinese artistic traditions while exploring other materials and approaches. Tung has received multiple awards, including the Dr Tan Tsze Chor Art Award, and has exhibited widely across Southeast Asia. The breadth of his practice reflects a commitment to working across forms, from established Chinese art forms to media such as photography and ceramics.
