Eric Chan (Malaysian, b. 1975) is a leading contemporary painter in Southeast Asia. He holds a Master's degree in Fine Art (Painting) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia, in partnership with LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore.

Chan’s paintings are deeply influenced by photographic aesthetics and camera effects, incorporating techniques such as blurring, smearing, and tonal inversions reminiscent of film negatives. His work explores the interplay between painting and photography, creating dreamlike, atmospheric compositions that challenge perceptions of time and memory.

Chan has enjoyed recognition for his work receiving amongst others, the Jurors' Choice at the Philip Morris ASEAN Art Awards (2002) and the Highly Commended accolade at the 2003 UOB Painting of the Year Competition. His works are collected by the Singapore Art Museum and in corporate and public collections such as the CapitaLand Collection, UOB Art Collection, UBS Art Collection, OCBC Art Collection and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore, and many important private collections.
